My interest in weimaraners started in the early 70's with our first weimaraner Duchess. Duchess followed my mom everywhere and when she wasn't following my mom around she was watching over us kids. My special trips with my dad to southern Michigan ,to hunt pheasant, sparked my love for hunting and watching dogs work. When I married and moved to Northern Michigan our little homestead started with two Weimaraners - Princess Rena and Sir Duke. Hunting with these dogs and exploring the woods on our property has always been my happy place. After commuting 90 miles daily to work for a year I decided to change paths. I started a state licensed daycare and watch 12 kids 24 hours a day. Rena and Duke produced their first litter in 2005 and We kept Ally. Before Ally was 7 months old I was hunting birds with her and the folks who had her brothers and sisters were talking about us and so began my first wait list for puppies. My life was chaotic to most with Kids and dogs, but to me it was filled with love and adventure. I loved learning and I began learning all I could about raising puppies, while raising cattle, horses, and children. I continue to learn everyday to better our dogs and their longevity. I am for the most part holistic with natural flea and tick products, core vaccines and titers to prevent over vaccination. Raising beef cattle has allowed me to feed a raw diet along side Inukshuk dog food. Our puppies are whelped underfoot and played with daily. I have worked part time for a veterinary clinic and learned so much about caring for my dogs.
